The shocking & scandalous truth about the organization I used to work for - Quick Electric. Be Careful while reading.

Dear all,
After 5 years, I have officially resigned from Quick Electric Industrial Company Limited as Manager (Marketing).
There are a few things I would like to share with you as I leave.
Normally, they say when you are with a company; you only speak well about the company.
Why?
Because you are the sales person of the company.
And also because you are under their visa.
But it’s only when you leave the company, would you speak the ‘real truth’ about the company.
Why?
You are a free bird.
Now there is nothing to worry about.
So let me take this opportunity to be honest and tell you the truth.
And the ugly truth.
THE UGLY TRUTH ABOUT QUICK ELECTRIC
Is Quick Electric a good company?
No.
Are the products of Quick Electric, the best in the Middle East?
Definitely not.
Is the owner of Quick Electric, Mr. Gabriel D’Souza a nice person?
No.
Do I consider Mr. Gabriel D’Souza fit enough to be my friend?
No.
Why do I say this?
Because…..
Quick Electric is not a good company.
Quick Electric is a GREAT company.
The products of Quick Electric are not the best in the Middle East.
The products of Quick Electric are the best in the world.
The owner of Quick Electric is not a nice person.
The owner of Quick Electric is one of the most amazing persons I have known.
I don’t consider Mr. Gabriel D’Souza as my friend.
I consider Mr. Gabriel D’Souza, my role model, my mentor and my inspiration.
HOW THE EMPLOYEES ARE TREATED
In my 5 years that I have worked for this company, I have been shocked to see certain things. All the employees of the company:
1)     Have been given interest free loans – Some up to 30 times their salary – INTEREST FREE to be repaid in small bits and pieces for various reasons.
2)     Have Full paid up insurance coverage. And the ones who are sick have a Gold Card Insurance Coverage. And this benefit is shared with not just the employees but also ALL their family members.
3)     (Including the laborers) stay NOT in labor accommodation but in Executive Bachelor Accommodation
4)     Drink Nestle Bottled water (including the laborers + they take it home for their consumption)
5)     Have a sharp and exact 48 hours for a 5 day week with 2 days off. No one was encouraged to work more hours. Why? So that everyone could spend more time with their family
6)     Company vehicles are given fully paid petrol, agency maintained benefits and an AAA emergency service card.
7)     Have enjoyed annual salary increments and annual bonus of a single salary or even at times double their salary
8)     Received their salaries on time – every time via bank transfer
9)     Complete and total in house support to learn from the company library
10)And finally – The only open door policy company where anyone – from the senior most engineer to the cleaner of the company, can come and meet and speak to the owner with total and complete respect and honor
SHOCKING TRUTH
In fact, you should be shocked to know, the management of Quick Electric
1)     Has never put a ban on anyone
2)     Has never harmed anyone – present and ones who left
3)     Has never spoken ill of anyone.
And though you may say, don’t all company’s do this?
Well you will be surprised to know, this has been uniform for all the employees – even those who failed, those who tried to damage and even those who did things they should not have done.
This is one company in my mind and heart I can say did all this for us.
In fact, in my 31 years of being in the UAE, this the only company I know which has produced the maximum number of self employed people, successful candidates and employees AFTER they spent time with Quick Electric.
I don’t know of any other company where laborers after joining and learning from a company like Quick Electric – have become Senior Managers of other local based companies, Highly paid technicians and Senior Purchasers. There is no other company than Quick Electric & Mr. Gabriel D’Souza that made this happen.
My friends,
We live in a world where
  • Salaries are not paid on time
  • People are asked to pay for their visa money
  • Companies put ban when you leave
  • Owners take advantage of employees
  • Employees are treated like dirt, dishonor and disdain

So as I leave, I would like to tell you, as Quick Electric has successfully managed to keep abreast with the latest standards of having the fully & totally type tested panel of the standards – IEC 61439.2 Edition 1.0, 2009 – 01 – which will make QE stand out as it always does – A pioneer in the market.
In conclusion….
I have not left Quick Electric because of the recession or because of the market conditions. QE has enough jobs and contacts to break even – if not mint money during the recessionary period. Simply because it has been a company that was not too greedy during the good times and not to foolish to grow more than it could contain.
The beauty of this company was that it took lesser jobs but only from stable and long standing clients – which ensured payment to the market and to its suppliers. The leadership of QE my friends is blessed.
I am only leaving it because I am pursuing my passion and my dream into the world of public speaking, communication, training and events.
Quick Electric Industrial Company and Mr. Gabriel D’souza is one of the finest companies and people I have worked for. And as long as you deal with this company, you can be rest assured you are in safe hand.
So to all the vendors, all the clients, all the business friends of Quick Electric – Do know – Quick Electric is the best run Low Voltage Switch-gear company in the world.
