The Shade in the Mirror by Jason Dalmeida on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 1:55pm

(I read this amazing article written by my buddy Jason D’Almeida. At first when I thought of reading it, I was sure I would have something to comment or put a rude critical remark with regards to his note. But I was mesmerized with his thoughts. Read it and see why.

The Shade in the Mirror
by Jason Dalmeida on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 1:55pm

Preface:
I am coming back to this blog space after ages. My apologies for it.
Most often there are so many topics that haunt me throughout the day, some of them funny and most of them completely outrageous, but all of them except this one could not remain the while  till i reached a computer. So bear with me people here comes one more...

The Shade in the Mirror.
Off lately, against all unessential traditions I did want to grow a fancy slim beard...  I did what I had to, let the beard grow against all odds, which actually only motivated me to reach my goal...
Then came the day when the unwanted hairline had to be shaved off till the edges of their follicles, leaving behind a defined shape that I always wanted to remain on my face....
The barber was calm and yes it happened just the way I wanted...

When I reached home, I ran to the bathroom, found my favorite mirror on the wall and looked at myself...
I suddenly realised two things...
  1. For some reason, I think my humility had flushed down the throne behind me and I was praising this person in the mirror
  2. and I wondered, who is this person in the mirror...
Like a curious kid, I reached out and tried to touch the person in the mirror...

He was cold. My hands ran over the hands in the mirror, but there was no texture, he was flat and so meaning less. No matter how hard I pushed my fingers into the mirror, there seem to be a clear divide between the two, which seemed physically impossible to meet.
He smiled at me every time I smiled at him... I know I had a reason to smile, and the reason was to make him smile, but why did he smile. I couldnt say.
In spite of all this, why was I praising him, just because he looked like what I am or looked like what I am thought to be.

Then began the thought process... Pausing, stepping out of the moment, and assuming a holistic view of myself(s). I noticed that there are 2 people separated by a plane of perspective... and I asked myself which one of these two people are the real me... the way it seems, I couldnt tell the difference... it could be that real me is on one side initiating an action to see a reaction... or was it the real me on the opposite side waiting to react to any action by someone that I felt was the real me. The plane that separates the two, is a perspective that has been formed over the years, by people around me and personal experiences realised over the years.

The one side of me wants to break into the plane, but will I be able to break through all the layers that have been formed over the years. And what if I succeed to penetrate through this virtual plane with persistence and unprecedented amount of efforts, I find that there was actually nothing and I destroyed the only means of seeing what is actually perceived of me and find myself lost within myself, blinded and clueless of what I am.

On the other hand, if I assume I will never be able to break the plane of perception, I find myself at a crossroad, where i am unable to decide which side of the plane is the person I am supposed to be...

On one side there is a person who can walk away from the mirror, and the person in the mirror will disappear with him. He wont have to experience the pain and tribulations to seek the reality behind the plane of perspective
He will loose himself within himself with no reference to anything to show what he is for the real world, untill he finds another plane of perspective which will define his image into something different.

Or he could continue to be a reflection of what he feels is the real person, where his image remains to make an impression in the world, but the world and he, will continue to see only what they or he want to see of himself, but in the bargain he will become an entity that is cold, flat and emotionally unreachable...

I can only wish that these thoughts will someday find a conclusion... until such time... cheers!!!

Observations from the dark side - 18+ ONLY

Observations from the dark side

Part 1

Which one are you?
The good looking d**k?
Or the ugly looking c**t?

Your friend is
going for a date.
But your friend
asks you to tag along.
So you assume
your friend is
your best friend.
Why?
Because your friend
trusts you enough
to take you along for the special moment.

But wait up dog.
Do you know the actual reason for this?
Simple man.
Simple.
The logic is simple.
Most probably you fall in either two
Either you are
a)   more good looking than your friend
b)   more uglier looking than your friend
If you are more good looking than your friend
Your friend is taking you along
So as to show his or her self value
Which is generally low
And gets a boost by your presence
And mind you
Good Looking here
Is not just covered for
‘looks’
It covers
Financial status
Personality
Confidence
And if in case you are more uglier than your friend
The reason is obvious
Think about if
You are with your friend who is super fat, super ugly and super stupid
A girl looks at your both
And has to make a choice whom to possibly sleep with for the night
Whom do you think she would go for?
Its always done for a benefit.
Nothing else.
So which f**k up are you?
The good looking d**k?
Or the ugly looking c**t?

Part 2

Are you relatives playing you because you are fucking stupid? Or are you fucking stupid?
In other words - Proof that your relatives are not your well wishers

Try it out
Purchase a really expensive car
Say the most expensive that no one in your family can afford
You will see a rather strange phenomenon
First everyone praises you
Then once that part is over
Notice something really strange happens
Everyone in your family slowly but surely has a new car
May be a better car than you have had
Why?
Is it because you blessed them with some kind of motivation
Or
Is it because you have now shown them a new standard of living?
Or
May be you helped them believe that there are better cars out there?
No.
Simple my friend.
Your relatives are not your well wishers
They want to show the world
They are better than you
They are want to show you
You are lower than them
They want you to know
That don’t forget where you came from
And that they too have what it takes to go beyond what you have imagined.
So in as much you ‘think’
Your relatives mean you well
Keep this fact in the end
They are trying hard to compete with you and against you
And when the time comes
They will ensure no matter what happens
You know where you are
Who you are
And they are better than you.
So my question to you is this
Are you relatives playing you because you are fucking stupid? Or are you fucking stupid?

Part 3

In love, why you are a dog & what she offers you is dog food - OBSERVATIONS FROM THE DARK SIDE - PART 3 OF 3

In love you are her dog, what she offers you is dog food and what she is trying to do is keep you on a leash.

You have a girl
Who is hot
Beautiful
Good looking
Great body
Good in bed
Serves you well
And loves you like crazy
I mean what else do you need?
Isn’t it a perfect world?
If your girl is too good to be true
Or really something that you feel you are blessed with
Be careful my friend
You are actually making a mistake
A big mistake
Of an ever bigger assumption
That your girl ‘loves’ you
Couple of things
You must remember
Women are smart
Really smart
Much more smarter than you are
And much more smarter than you can ever be
Because they are the ones who get pregnant
They are the ones who will face the law of diminishing returns
In terms of beauty
In terms of the figure
And in terms of their tight compact breasts
Which may be hanging beautifully now
And may become sagging horribly afterwards
So given the fact that they have to face
An unfair and unwinnable war
They will resort to a very calculated strategy
Evaluating and fully figuring out what they are getting themselves into
So my friend
Remember this
They will compare your hotdog to the other hotdogs that they were stuffed with before
They will compare your mouth and your tongue to the other tongues and mouths that have sucked and licked every part of her body
They will compare the luxuries they got showered with and compare them to what you can provide them
So my friend
She is not in love with you
She is in love with ‘her’
And what she is giving you
The dog food to keep her dog on the leash.
So you are her dog
What she offers you is dog food
And what she is trying to do
Is keep you on a leash.

So you are her dog, what she offers you is dog food and what she is trying to do is keep you on a leash.

The Oval Office.

The Oval Office underwent a revamp while US President Barack Obama was on a recent holiday with his family. We look at the changes made to the famous office, plus take a look back at the decor favoured by previous presidents.

The Oval Office was completely redecorated, including new sofas, paint and wallpaper, the White House said on Tuesday. The announcement came just hours before the president spoke to the nation on Iraq from this symbolic seat of his administration.

The work was done while Obama was vacationing with his family on Martha's Vineyard, an island off the coast of Massachusetts, from August 19 to 29.

The centerpiece of the redecoration is the new rug, which is yellow, cream and blue and has five inscriptions woven into it, four quoting Obama predecessors and a fifth from civil rights champion Martin Luther King, Jr.

The president's desk, a gift from Queen Victoria to the United States in 1880 and built from the timbers of the British arctic exploration ship Resolute, remains in place.

Located on the south side of the West Wing of the White House, the Oval Office is the symbol of executive power and the place where presidents sign laws, receive foreign leaders and deliver speeches to the nation on matters of high moment. In a photo from February 2009, Obama is helped by Vermont Governor Jim Douglas to move a couch in the office.

This February 2008 file photo shows a view of President Bush's Oval Office. Presidents typically put their own touches on the Oval Office early in their terms. Bush brought in a rug designed by his wife, Laura. It included radiating stripes, which he often said suggested to him the optimism of a sunrise.

President Clinton's Oval Office is seen in this picture from September 1993. The Scott Group of Grand Rapids, Michigan made President Clinton's Oval Office rug, and also made President Obama's new rug.

My views on Love, Lust, Marriage and Friendship between a Man and Woman And the lessons learnt. Part 3 - The Final Episode.

My views on Love, Lust, Marriage and Friendship between a Man and Woman And the lessons learnt. Part 3

The final episode.

So what was I trying to say?

I don’t have time….so here goes….
The final version of what I learnt through my life….
Without bullshit.

The definitions that I believe in….

Man
A testosterone filled
Physically superior
Opportunity blessed
Power driven
Sexually charged
Success slave
That always wants to have the last laugh
With the least amount of effort, headache and problems possible
While wanting to hide the fact
That in the end he will always be a slave to a woman
But would always want to dominate and rule her.

Women
A physically weaker specimen
Who has to undergo
Pleasure and Passion
Pain and Problems
Of an unfair world
That has been used to treating her as the weaker sex
And who has to always do one thing
Give birth
Give love
Give happiness
Give Sacrifice
And finally in the end
Give her life
And who makes the greatest foolish mistake of assuming that
She can one day be equal to man
And that her body, her mind and her spirit can achieve
The challenges crushing her gender race from the beginning of time

Love
Love is
A state of mind.
An illusion.
A game everyone plays
An emotional feeling that makes us do things we normally wouldn’t do
A logical delusion that convinces us on what is not right
And a grave mistake everyone has to make at some point of their lives

Lust
Lust is when
your sexual organs
do the thinking for you
because
it supplies your body
with the addictive  doses of pleasure and heavenly orgasm
which you want & don’t need
but every part of you thinks otherwise.

Marriage
A decision two people take to do things together
and benefit from each other company in every possible manner
while giving foolish excuses and reasons why they should be together
simply because they only consider the good stuff which they hope to get some day
and ignore the ugly reality of boredom that will eventually catch up with them everyday

Friendship
A relationship where there are
Common interests
Mutual benefits
Mental justification
Physical satisfaction
Spiritual commonness
And justifiable grounds to stay together

And the final definition…

Your life and your Truth
Is this
The statements
Or definitions
That you laughed
Or tickled you
Or made you disagree
Are the ones
That have the most impact in your life
Consciously
Or
Unconsciously
And may be
That is why
Because of this
Untold
Unknown
Unwanted
Hidden
Holy
Horrifying
Reality
Result
And
Realization
Your life
Is the way it is now
But
It is NOT
The way
You wanted
It to be.

Read it again
If you didn’t follow
The truth
Hidden
In my lies.

(makes you laugh again doesn’t it?)

From the Devil’s Advocate and the Son of God.
Amen.

What I learnt from one of the hottest model - Andreea Zoia.

What I learnt from one of the hottest model - Andreea Zoia.

I used to live in my small shoe box world
with a pea-sized opinion and
a universe sized ego
branding these creatures whom we know as ‘models’.

I mean after all – who are models?

Let me take you through
a tour of my small pea-sized
South Indian brain.

When I would see a model, the top 10 thoughts that came to mind was….
1) What a fucking skinny bitch
2) What a bitchy character
3) What a characterless female
4) What kind of a female would flaunt her body for the world to see? Rubbish woman
5) Must be a whore ready to sleep with anyone for success
6) What a dumb brainless obnoxious female
7) What’s the big fucking deal of walking down a bloody ramp? Any idiot can do this
8) Fake smile, Fake Attitude and Fake personality
9) Easy to bed these women if you have money
10) Female with high maintenance value.

That my friend was me and my shitty opinion.
And then, I met Andy Pandy.
Andy who?
Andreea Zoia.
A model and fashion connoisseur.
A lovely Romanian woman.
Sweet.
Nice.
Lovable.
Funny.
And everything else.
But as usual, I discounted her.
I didn’t find her ‘great’ or ‘irresistible’ but there was something about her.
Just like the movie ‘Something about Mary’, something 'else' stood out.
I mean don’t get me wrong.
She was attractive.
She had an amazing smile, well toned body, slim figure, great charm, absolute humility and a lovely attitude.
But there was the one small tiny ingredient that stood out.
And that surprised me to be honest.
She had passion. Passion.
Not as in ‘sex’.
(Get those porn filled thoughts out of your crappy head - idiot!)
Now…when I stated passion…
I am talking about something else….
Passion as in thirst.
And I would call it not just passion but…
A Die hard passion
A Die hard passion –
to learn, to grow and to become better.
And from that moment our glancing ‘hello’ blossomed a friendship,
which I find very hard to explain
but can pen it down to total mutual respect
and complete admiration that we both have for each other
where we know we love and care for each other –
while we hate many things about each other at the same time.

So what is the great spiritual logic that has made me from a ‘model hater’ to a ‘model admirer’?

Here are my reasons.
1) HARD WORK
Model have to work bloody hard to maintain their figure and they physique. This involves a Spartan discipline of workouts, Die hard diet control, inhuman lifestyle of refusing the pleasures of eating like a normal person. And they have to keep their weight and figure in absolute – even with all the issues and challenges of the biological roller-coasters that women go through – most terribly never having a normal nights sleep.

2) SELLING THE PRODUCT
They have to sell themselves because they are the product.
And they have to do this day in and day out.
To each and every decision maker.
That too keeping in mind the dirty industry that they are in,
is a place where many up coming and youthful models
have to be crushed and crumpled
to cross the thin red cavalcade of decency
to sacrifice to the heartless wants of characterless men…
and that too keeping in mind
that age is running like water through their fingers
while facing the bitter fact that
this is the only way of earning their daily bread
– to get that precious next contract.

3) COLD CALCULATIVE CAGE
These poor women
have to go through a batter of a high pressurized environment
where the hours can be endless,
where ego’s are so sky high and
where one mistake can result in
a cold, calculative and complete cut off
from the industry itself.
So how can a bird survive outside
when food only lies inside the cage?

4) SACRIFICE COMES AT A PRICE
They have to let go of the moments
where they can live their childhood,
they girly moments and
a life of a normal person
simply because
their priesthood journey of becoming a model
demands this sacrifice.

5) NORMAL PEOPLE IN AN ABNORMAL WORLD?
Did you ever consider
that they may have families to support?
This may come as a shock to many
but I have come across models who are single mothers,
models who take care of their parents,
models who are supporting their entire families
along with the education of their siblings……
This to me is character
at its best and most selfless.
You don’t have to search for ‘Mother Teresa’s.
Some of them are right there
that too in the fashion world
but in total secrecy.

6) OTHER SIDE JOBS?
Have you considered
that may be these creatures
do not only focus on modeling
but may also try to do other work
like teaching,
running a business or
may be doing side jobs –
which can be as mandane as standing in a shopping mall for hours
while looking at others staring at them
with bad intentions?....
And all this is
just to earn something more
to make life a bit more better?
And I dont know about you
But it came as a shock to me
to know that this industry
does not pay that well.

7) BIG EXPENSES
Lets accept this fact…
that just may be,
the expenses for being portrayed
so hot and sexy
come with very high bills –
everything from the make up you wear,
the wardrobe you select
to the medicines you take?

8) EDUCATED, COMPETITIVENESS AND INTELLIGENCE IS ALSO A REQUIREMENT???
And finally,
did it ever occur to you that
being a model is a life long process
of learning, studying and competing?
Even something as simple as a ‘cat-walk’
has a definite course study program attached to it –
Did you know that?
I didn't.
Dieting and Exercise –
is another lesson they have to learn –
each and every day?
Public presentation and marketability –
is also another lesson they have to learn?
And how can you forget
the hardcore presence
of a ruthless competitive drive
that has the psyche –
either you get it or I get it?
In an industry brazen with limited age group,
stress levels that can kill a normal person and
countless thousands who enter and hope
to become the next big thing
‘every second’ –
what can one do to survive?

*thinking*…………………
So what does it all come down to?
Simple.
Respect.
I have learnt to respect these angelic beings
who are twisted and tormented
for the temptations of our troubled times.

May be for many these are women who are lost and
are chasing a glorious lifestyle
that is as certain as where the wind may blow tomorrow.

But as for me,
my perception and opinion of these women is
no more the same.

I respect these individuals
who have taken such a bold leap
into such ambitious shark infested waters
where they must learn to swim and escape
the sexual and senseless blood thirsty appetite of flesh eating beasts
while facing reality that nothing is forever.

Its easy branding them as expensive.

Rather
its easy to brand them into anything.

But for once, I will not do that.

Because I have learnt something
from one of the hottest model -
Andreea Zoia.

What is that lesson?

Simple…

Sexy was never a cheap affair.
